Vivalink launches Biometrics Data Platform

The platform has served as the basis of clinical research studies at multiple institutions, including UCSF and Stanford University.

Virtual care and digital clinical trials specialist Vivalink announced the release of its enhanced Biometrics Data Platform, designed to aid the deployment of patient monitoring and data analysis applications for ambulatory and remote settings.

Offering remote data capture, delivery and analysis for decentralized clinical trials and virtual care, the platform includes both advanced data services as well as medical wearable sensors.

It offers continuous and episodic data capture, a clinical patient mobile app, advanced data processing and machine learning technologies and adheres to HIPAA and GDPR data protection laws.

Features such as remote automatic data capture and synchronization from medical wearables securely deliver data to the cloud even if intermittent network disruptions occur, while mobile and cloud integration capabilities include FIHR support and web services APIs.

Among the advanced data services are live and retrospective data access, including advanced data algorithms for arrhythmia and respiratory rate detection. The platform is also capable of executing multi-format data transformation for ingestion into clinical systems.

The sensors integrated into the platform have obtained regulatory clearance in the United States, EU and China, and were developed per FDA Design Controls ISO 13485, IEC 62304 and ISO 14971.

The platform has served as the basis of clinical research studies at multiple institutions, including a 3,000-patient atrial fibrillation study at the University of California, San Francisco and a study of the effects of stress and teenage depression at Stanford University.

Earlier this year, Vivalink extended its medical wearables data platform with enhanced temperature and cardiac monitors optimized for remote patient monitoring and decentralized clinical trials.

Built for remote patient monitoring, virtual hospitals and decentralized clinical trials, the sensors, part of Vivalink's vitals data platform, are specifically designed for use in remote and ambulatory situations and now feature an onboard cache that can store up to 20 hours of continuous data even in the event of network disconnections.

In addition, the enhanced reusable cardiac ECG monitor can last up to 120 hours per charge, compared with the previous 72 hours, and has an extended data cache of 96 hours, along with a stronger network signal and the ability to transmit data faster than before.
