At HIMSS22, Caregility, a telehealth technology and services vendor, introduced Inpatient Virtual Engagement, a new integrated clinical system designed to complement inpatient care with virtual care in order to enable hybrid care delivery at the patient bedside.

At the core of the subscription-based solution-as-a-service are three components: the company's new Access Point of Care System (APS100) for lower-acuity patient settings, an administration portal to centralize multiple telehealth programs and a fleet management tool for governing thousands of telehealth endpoint devices.

Bedside hybrid care delivery

Inpatient Virtual Engagement offers providers a cost-effective option for bedside hybrid care delivery at scale, Caregility said.

Hybrid care at every patient bedside creates value by increasing the frequency, timeliness and thoroughness of clinical intervention and engagement, while removing clinical blind spots and gaps in care, the company contended.

As healthcare teams grapple with the ongoing staffing crisis, Inpatient Virtual Engagement is designed to help reduce staff burnout by facilitating virtual specialty coverage, including telemedicine rounding, nursing and observation to enrich patient care and clinical collaboration, the company added.

The new technology can enable earlier detection of deteriorating patient conditions, thus enhancing health systems' ability to support rapid response aimed at improving patient outcomes, Caregility said. Inpatient Virtual Engagement also fits into the growing trend of patient enablement, providing patients with timely access to their clinical team, interpreters and family members to reduce anxiety and speed the recovery process, the company said.

Virtual engagement bolsters inpatient care

"We have only scratched the surface on how virtual engagement can bolster inpatient care delivery," said Caregility president and COO Mike Brandofino.

"Virtual care kept staff and patients safe during the pandemic and today is being used to augment the efforts of overburdened care teams," he continued. "Tele-nursing and the ability to extend satellite or referral telehealth resources into rural and underserved medical communities represent just a couple of ways telehealth can be intelligently deployed to continue driving value in healthcare."

Caregility is at HIMSS22 in Booth 3071.

New remote patient monitoring system

Kajeet, a wireless connectivity, software and hardware technology vendor, has partnered with VSee, a telemedicine platform vendor, to deliver a remote patient monitoring system for hospitals, health systems and other healthcare providers.

Healthcare providers looking to launch a successful RPM system must consider technology, cost and accessibility, all while balancing regulatory and compliance issues as well as privacy, security and support needs, the companies said.

"This combined solution truly takes the heavy lifting from the healthcare provider, delivering exactly what a healthcare provider needs to launch a successful RPM solution," said Milton Chen, CEO at VSee. "From device procurement, provisioning, application configuration, deployment, logistics, cellular service and support, this complete turnkey solution with Kajeet makes the technical aspects of RPM simple and easy."

Greg Jones, CTO at Kajeet, said when his company searched for an RPM application provider to enhance the Kajeet SmartRPM system, VSee was the logical choice.

"Their easy-to-use, data-rich RPM dashboards are widely respected in the market," Jones contended. "Integration with Kajeet's solution was seamless, and resulted in a complete RPM solution that arrives ready to go, right out of the box, with security, reliable connectivity and mobile-device management already on board."

Kajeet is at HIMSS22 in Booth 5080. VSee is in Booth 3973.
