We’re excited to share the topic and questions for this week’s #HITsm chat happening Friday, 11/8 at Noon ET (9 AM PT). This week’s chat will be hosted by Susan Houck Clark (@SusanHouckClark) from Briljent on the topic “Government and SDoH”.
Our health is shaped by our physical, social and economic environments. For example, having access to quality grocery stores with fresh produce makes it much easier to eat a healthy diet. And when communities have areas with parks and sidewalks, exercise becomes easier. Additionally, having social supports affects health and wellness by helping people avoid mental health problems. These are a few ways that conditions in our communities shape our health and well-being.
In recent years, it has become more apparent than ever there is significant need to embrace whole-person health. This includes all stakeholders who engage with individuals to improve health including health care providers, insurance companies, government and community-based organizations who provide services. In fact, we now see government agencies recognizing the importance of treating the whole-person to not only improve health outcomes but to reduce on-going costs of health care.
Join us on #HITsm Twitter chat to collaborate on how to bring together the tech community, providers, and government to create powerful solutions.
