From the team at Healthcare IT Today we want to with you all a Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas!
What a year it’s been. While we saw some return to normalcy, we’ve also seen another surge thanks to Omicrom. We’re not out of the COVID-19 woods yet and predictions are all over the place on what the future looks like. That’s scary, disheartening and challenging. I think we’ve all suffered in different ways through the pandemic. That’s hard to process.
While I look back at the challenges we’ve all faced, I look at the amazing acts of service and kindness I’ve seen. This is particularly true in the healthcare IT community where so many have tried to do so much to help healthcare organizations. Whether it’s a health IT company assisting with better digital triage of patients so that hospitals aren’t overrun with patients who don’t need to be there or telehealth companies making sure doctors can see their patients remotely. There have literally been thousands of people working hard to help healthcare organizations in whatever way they can. We have a long ways to go and plenty to learn from this time, but I’m heartened by the good people I know that are making a difference in patients’ lives.
Plus, I appreciate all those people in the community who have connected with each other on a personal level. Whether that’s a simple message to see how someone is doing or something even bigger. All of those small acts of kindness add up and make a huge difference.
I know the holidays can be challenging for many and even harder if you’re stuck at a hospital working or dealing with a COVID-19 spike. We hope you know how much we appreciate you here at Healthcare IT Today and hope we can help your holidays be a little brighter!
