How to Strengthen the Role of Community Engagement on the Surge of Teenage Pregnancy in the Philippines

Being a developing country, a constant societal problem in the Philippines is the steady inclination of teenage pregnancy cases that branches out to economic, societal, and health problems. Although the national government's initiative has a broader scope of well-funded and detailed programs, the paper argued that community engagement is also a possible solution in mitigating teenage pregnancy locally. This paper provides a viable program on How to Strengthen the Role of Community Engagement in the Surge of Teenage Pregnancy in the Philippines. It involved Community mobilization and information dissemination as its prime facet, local communication campaign strategies and education, and even utilization of the existing local governing body, the Sangguninang Kabataan, in engaging youth in the Community-driven Initiatives against teenage pregnancy.
