Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG) has selected Insource as its strategic data management partner as it heads towards shared digital services with its partner trust, Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH).
The trust is set to upgrade its ageing data infrastrucure as part of the Digital Aspirant Programme and in line with the Humber Acute Services Programme.
The trust will deploy Insource’s data management platform, Health Data Enterprise, which will be provided as a managed service on the Microsoft Azure platform. This will free up existing analytics staff from data warehouse management and system development tasks so they can focus on trust BI and analytics activities.
Christopher Evans, associate director of information systems, for Northern Lincolnshire and Goole, said: “Whilst this is initially about replacing our ageing data warehouse, the core decision is primarily to ensure strategic alignment and collaboration between our two organisations.
“We already have a shared vision between NLaG and HUTH and we will be merging onto a single platform across both organisations within the next couple of years. What Insource gives us is data consistency and continuity of reporting across the wider regional footprint while we redesign clinical services and pathways to meet our integrated care goals.”
Initially, Health Data Enterprise will extract data from the trust’s three hospitals, Diana Princess of Wales in Grimsby; Scunthorpe General Hospital; and Goole and District Hospital. The data will be combined with the SystmOne community services data to give a single version of all patient pathway interactions within the trust.
Health Data Enterprise will create fully validated, standardised, unified data for trust-wide care coordination, BI and analytics and statutory reporting.
