Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust has implemented Civica’s scheduling software to help ensure its community-based services can run more smoothly.

By implementing Civica Scheduling cloud software, the trust can increase clinical time and improve efficiencies for 150 staff across its urgent community response, home visiting and discharge to assess teams.

The intelligent scheduling tool can assign caseloads automatically, based on clinical skill, patient need and location. Clinicians are able to view their schedules via an app, supporting them to better manage their time and spend more time with patients.

Liana Arnold, deputy divisional lead for Integrated Urgent and Emergency Care at Lincolnshire Community Health Services, said: “Civica’s intelligent scheduling platform will help with providing the best out-of-hospital-care we possibly can and avoiding admissions into acute hospitals as the NHS faces unprecedented pressure this winter.”

The software is delivering improved data, which is allowing teams to make informed decisions around patients remaining at home or being moved into residential care.

Not only does this help ensure that patients who are able to can remain at home where their recovery is often better, but it also prevents bed blocking in NHS settings and improves patient flow.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services is also able to track how responsive its services are. The improved joined-up platform links all services to make reporting easier.

In addition, the software is delivering on environmental goals too, as it allows the trust’s staff to plan more efficient routes to reduce mileage.

Nathan Gasco, divisional managing director at Civica Health and Care, said: “Our intelligent scheduling software is helping LCHS to better meet the needs of its patients at a crucial time – providing the best care in the community in the most effective way.

“We’re delighted to partner with the trust on its journey to use data and technology more efficiently both now and in the future.”

At the end of last year Civica’s Experience Wales platform was deployed as part of the Once for Wales Concerns Management System programme, allowing all health boards and trusts in the country to collect real-time feedback from service users.
