As we kick off a new year, I thought it would be fun to take a quick look back at some of the top resources, articles, videos, and podcasts we shared in 2022.  I find it fascinating to see what resonated with people.  Plus, no doubt you’ll find something interesting that you missed.

Most Visited Healthcare IT Resource Pages

These resources are a lot of work to create and update, but we know that you all love them since you visit them a lot.  Check out our top resource pages.

Most Visited Healthcare IT Today Articles Published in 2022

  1. Fujitsu fi-8170 Scanner Review for Healthcare Organizations – People seem to love the product reviews we do.  We’ll be doing more of them in 2023
  2. Balancing Budget and Need for Updates: The Struggles of Keeping Physician Practices Alive – The struggle is real.  Not sure why this article did so well, but maybe because so many are struggling and looking for some ideas and hope.
  3. HIMSS 2022 Announcements and Solutions – While HIMSS is facing some really interesting competition, the Healthcare IT Today community still wanted to know what was happening at HIMSS.
  4. DoJ Joins False Claims Whistleblower Suit Against EHR Vendor Modernizing Medicine – Everyone seems to flock to judgments and lawsuits like this one.
  5. 2022 Predictions for Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and In Home Care – I know not everyone enjoys predictions, but the fact that last year’s prediction did so well means that people like them more than I realized which is good since we just started our 2023 Health IT Predictions.
  6. The Importance of Cybersecurity in Protecting Patient Safety – Ryan Witt from Proofpoint is one of my favorite people to talk cybersecurity in healthcare, so I’m happy to see this article and video did so well.
  7. Final 2022 Health IT Predictions – Looks like people loved the potpurri of predictions too.  You can look through last year’s list and hold people accountable for their good and bad predictions.
  8. 2022 Predictions for Healthcare Interoperability – A third predictions post doing so well.  Does this mean people cared about RPM and Healthcare Interoperability the most in 2022?
  9. RPM (Remote Patient Monitoring) Challenges – In 2022, it’s fair to say that people were trying to figure out RPM.  I think that will actually continue in 2023.
  10. The Health System’s Guide to Cerner in 2022 – This was a great resource from ReMedi Health Solutions, so it makes sense why it did so well.  Plus, it illustrates how much the EHR still impacts so many in health IT.

Most Visited Healthcare IT Today Articles that were Published Prior to 2022

It’s always fun to see what topics and articles are still of interest to readers.  It may be more a reflection of which articles are still doing well with search engines, but it also means that someone was searching that topic and found that article.

  1. Facebook in Healthcare – This article is so old, it’s kind of sad that it’s still getting so much traffic.  It is fascinating to see how we thought about Facebook and healthcare in 2014.
  2. What the EMR Industry Can Learn From Facebook – Seems like people care about Facebook and Healthcare.  Although, this article is from 2012.
  3. HIPAA vs HIPPA – Fun Friday – I’m glad some humor made the top list since I enjoy humor as much or more than the next person.  Plus, Bad HIPPA Takes is a great Twitter account.
  4. Top Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) Companies – Looks like the interest in RPM started before 2022.  Lots of progress in this space and I think the best is yet to come.
  5. Epic’s UGM (User) Conference: Insights, Perspectives, and the Experience – This definitely feels like a search engine ranking thing since why are people reading what happened at Epic’s UGM in 2021.  In 2023, I better make it a goal to attend the Epic UGM and report back for you since you all love it so much.
  6. 10 Years Since HITECH: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly – This surprised me that it still did so well in 2022.  Not sure what’s driving the interest here.  I still mention the $36 billion HITECH stimulus money, but it’s very offhand.  I can’t imagine who still wants to read about it even retrospectively.
  7. Publicly Traded Health IT Companies – Another article from 2014 that I almost feel bad when people see it since it’s changed so much and wasn’t even comprehensive then.  Would be interesting to do that list now.
  8. Step Aside COWs, WOWs and iPhones. Zebra Devices Now Support Epic Rover – If you like these product reviews.  We almost have a product review ready to publish on Zebra’s first tablet device designed for healthcare.
