Prison Health Care is Broken Under the Medicaid Inmate Exclusion Policy

The Humane Correctional Health Care Act (H.R.3514) 3514) , introduced in May of 2021, would repeal the Medicaid Inmate Exclusion Policy and thus provide incarcerated individuals with Medicaid access. While hospitals and clinics abide by the Center for Medicaid & Medicare Services guidelines, jails and prisons do not.
