We’re excited to share the topic and questions for this week’s #HITsm chat happening Friday, 6/19 at Noon ET (9 AM PT). This week’s chat will be hosted by Kate Corbett, PMP, CSM (@CorbettKr) from @CstoneAdvisors on the topic of “The Right Telehealth Workflows“.
On the rapid adoption of telemedicine during the pandemic: “Our CEO of Mayo has stated all along that we’d like to be doing that type of medicine by 2030,” Dr. Fitzgerald said. “We really did it all in six to eight weeks.” (Source article)
#COVID-19 accelerated the deployment of virtual care by years. In the rush of rapid technology deployment and adoption, have we stopped to ask ourselves if these telehealth workflows are right for patients and providers?
Suddenly advertisements proclaim the availability of convenient telemedicine anytime, anywhere. Providers conduct their normal scheduled visits using a video conferencing tool. Patients access a clinician 24×7 by chat or phone to triage their symptoms. A service allows patients to access on-demand video visits with third-party providers.
With the rush to grow virtual care services, downsides of these workflows that pose risks to quality of care and patient satisfaction include challenges maintaining the shift to value, new data silos, and exponential growth in the number of best of breed applications and devices to be managed by patients and providers.
Join us Friday for a chat on the right telehealth workflows.
