In 2018, Congress passed requirements under the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention That Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities (SUPPORT) Act, requiring DEA to create a special registration for opioid addiction treatment via telehealth by October 2019. 21 U.S.C. § 802(17).
